What version of SCSM do I have installed?

I recently ran across a forum post with a user asking how to find out who Service Manager was registered to and what version of service manager was installed.

To do this open up the Service manager console and click on help. This will give you a build version number as seen in the following screenshot. The build version number will tell you if it is trial, RTM, has a SP applied etc…

Here is the current build list for Service manager 2012 at the time of this post:

Build Number

Version

7.5.1088.276 System Center Service Manager 2012 CTP2
7.5.1354.0 System Center Service Manager 2012 Beta
7.5.1464.0 System Center Service Manager 2012 RC
7.5.1561.0 System Center 2012 Service Manager RTM

Microsoft maintains a list of SCSM build version numbers here:

NOTE: You cannot change Service Manager 2012 from an eval version to retail version after install. You will need to re-install if you want to change versions. See this link for more details about changing version
